Terms and Conditions

Trevor Bird Consulting Inc.
Doing business as Making Sense of Inner Conflict

Effective date: January 1, 2026

1. Provider and Application

These terms govern use of www.trevorbird.com and www.trevorbird.net and enrolment in the coaching education described below.

The provider is Trevor Bird Consulting Inc., doing business as Making Sense of Inner Conflict (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). References to Making Sense of Inner Conflict identify the Company’s business name, not a separate legal entity. Making Sense of Self™ is our named coaching method.

“You” means the website user or person enrolling. Our paid programs are intended for adults aged 18 or older. You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement.

Website browsing is subject to these general terms. A purchase agreement takes effect when you expressly accept the applicable terms at checkout and submit your order.

The checkout details, program description supplied before enrolment, applicable course terms, and identified privacy and recording notices form that agreement. Specific course terms control over general website wording on the same subject. Mandatory legal protections take priority.

2. Website Content and Third Parties

Website information is educational and informational. We take reasonable care with accuracy but may correct errors and update content.

Content is not individualized medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other regulated advice.

Third-party links and platforms may have their own terms. We are responsible for our own conduct and do not guarantee third-party content or uninterrupted platform availability. Any material affiliate relationship will be disclosed where relevant.

3. Accounts and Permitted Website Use

Provide accurate information and protect your login details.

Do not share paid access, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with website operation, introduce malicious software, infringe rights, or use our spaces for harassment or unlawful activity.

We may take reasonable protective action in response to misuse. Consequences for a paid enrolment are subject to the course terms and applicable law.

4. Content Ownership and Submissions

Our original course materials, recordings, workbooks, written content, graphics, and branding belong to the Company or their respective owners. Purchase does not transfer ownership.

You may use materials expressly supplied for download for your own learning, and make professional use only as permitted below or under separate written permission.

You retain ownership of your own submissions. You authorize us to handle them only as reasonably needed to administer the service, provide feedback, assess learning, and carry out other expressly agreed purposes.

You must have permission to submit any third-party material or personal information. No submission grants blanket marketing rights over your name, image, story, or content.

5. Privacy and Testimonials

Our Privacy Policy describes the collection, use, protection, and retention of personal information and your privacy choices. Sensitive recordings and disclosures are subject to a specific notice and appropriate consent.

Marketing use of a testimonial, name, image, voice, or personal story requires separate permission identifying the approved content and uses.

Testimonials reflect individual experiences, not guaranteed results, and must not be presented as reviews of a program the person has not taken.

6. Program Description and Professional Purpose

The following terms apply to Making Sense: A Parts Work Process for Coaches, including its Making Sense of Self™ certification pathway.

The confirmed order details identify the cohort, dates, venue, online platform, technical requirements, instructor, tuition, taxes, payment schedule, and included services. Review and correct those details before payment.

The contracting provider is Trevor Bird Consulting Inc., doing business as Making Sense of Inner Conflict.

A program may be delivered in person, live online, or in a hybrid format, as specified before purchase. Only the sessions, individual support, practice opportunities, recordings, resources, and assessment expressly included in that offer form part of your enrolment.

Venue or platform details, time zones, technical requirements, and relevant attendance requirements will be provided before enrolment. This agreement does not promise a particular number or duration of sessions, physical facilities, meals, or other inclusions unless stated in your offer.

This is professional development for coaches and people entering coaching. Your intended use does not, by itself, determine whether consumer law applies. Nothing requires you to waive protections that apply to you.

Separate products or private coaching services have the terms disclosed for those offerings.

7. Fees and Payment Plans

Tuition, currency, applicable taxes, total payable, payment-plan amounts and dates, and any assessment or certification charges will be disclosed before checkout.

No additional fee, including a reassessment fee, is payable unless disclosed and agreed before it is incurred. If a discount or different arrangement is agreed, it must be recorded in your order details.

A payment plan spreads the agreed total fee; it is not a monthly subscription or a series of separate session purchases.

You authorize us and our payment processor to charge the agreed amounts on the agreed dates. Keep payment details current. Your entitlement to cancel remaining payments under Section 8 is unaffected.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. We may temporarily suspend access after notice while an overdue payment remains unresolved.

We will not add unagreed late fees, accelerate the remaining balance, or impose collection costs solely under this clause.

Contact us about a suspected billing error. This does not restrict lawful payment disputes, chargebacks, complaints, or other remedies.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

Before the course starts

You may cancel at any time by writing to behuman@trevorbird.ca. We will refund amounts paid less CAD $200 for administration and cancel remaining payment-plan instalments.

The amount retained will not exceed the amount paid. Applicable statutory rights remain protected.

Our 30-day refund offer

You may withdraw by emailing behuman@trevorbird.ca within 30 calendar days after the first scheduled training session.

We will refund amounts paid less CAD $200 as an administration fee and cancel remaining payment-plan instalments. The fee retained will not exceed the amount paid.

A valid request does not depend on supplying a reason or proving dissatisfaction.

The contractual window ends at 11:59 p.m. in the time zone identified in your order confirmation—or America/Toronto if none is identified—on the date 30 calendar days after the first scheduled session. The order confirmation will state that date.

Missing a session does not restart the window.

Any applicable tax adjustment will be made as required by law. We will process an approved contractual refund within 15 calendar days of notice. Bank processing may take longer, subject always to any shorter legal deadline.

After the 30-day refund window

No contractual refund is available, and remaining agreed payment-plan instalments remain payable despite withdrawal, non-attendance, or non-completion.

A transfer to a later cohort may be discussed under Section 9, but is not guaranteed and does not by itself cancel or defer payment obligations.

These provisions remain subject to applicable statutory rights and any different written agreement.

9. Participation, Transfers, and Individual Support

You are responsible for meeting the attendance and participation requirements disclosed for your program before enrolment, whether sessions take place in person or online.

Where an online group replay is supplied as an approved alternative to live attendance, watch it and submit the required short reflection on learning and application.

A replay does not replace a session expressly identified as requiring live participation. Additional learning resources do not create new compulsory requirements unless identified as such before purchase.

Transfers

A transfer to another cohort may be possible by written agreement. It is not guaranteed.

Before acceptance, we will confirm the new dates, available credit, any price difference, and how refund and assessment deadlines are affected. No additional payment is required unless agreed.

Individual support

Where individual mastery calls or other one-to-one support are included, book them through the designated process. The booking period, rescheduling notice, and missed-call arrangements will be disclosed before enrolment.

No cancellation or rescheduling fee applies unless disclosed and agreed.

Direct questions to behuman@trevorbird.ca or the designated program space. Enrolment does not include unlimited private coaching or on-demand access to Trevor.

10. Certification and Assessment

Where the program includes the Making Sense of Self™ certification pathway, individual mastery support and assessment take the form described before enrolment.

The pathway may include a developmental call and a final review call following submission of a coaching recording. The offer must specify the number and length of included calls, the assessor, and the feedback process.

Certification is not included in an offering unless expressly stated.

You become a Certified Making Sense of Self™ Facilitator only after meeting the training and assessment requirements. The qualification is issued by Trevor Bird Consulting Inc., doing business as Making Sense of Inner Conflict.

Attendance or payment alone does not guarantee certification.

Requirements must be supplied before enrolment, including participation, assessment criteria and passing standard, recording instructions and deadline, assessor, feedback, and reassessment arrangements.

We will not add new substantive certification conditions to an existing enrolment without agreement.

Assessment concerns appropriate, client-led application of the method. It does not require every stage to appear in one recording.

If further development is needed, we will explain what to practise and the available reassessment route. Any reassessment fee, deadline, or limit must have been disclosed before purchase.

You may request written clarification of an assessment outcome. We will explain the reasons and available review arrangements.

This is our method-specific qualification. It is not a professional licence and does not extend your existing scope.

11. Coaching Scope and Personal Choice

Making Sense of Self™ training integrates IFS-informed parts work, inner child work, and shadow work within coaching.

It is education and experiential learning, not therapy, counselling, medical treatment, or crisis care. No particular client outcome, personal transformation, income, or business success is guaranteed.

Outcomes and results

Individual experiences and results vary. We do not guarantee any particular personal, professional, financial, or client outcome from participating in the program or using Making Sense of Self™. Testimonials describe individual experiences and do not guarantee similar results for you or your clients. This does not limit our obligation to deliver the program as described, our stated refund policy, or your rights under applicable law.

You remain responsible for consent, professional competence, legal and regulatory obligations, insurance where applicable, and decisions to pause or refer client work.

Sensitive personal experiences may arise during exercises. You may decline disclosure of a particular experience or pause an exercise and discuss a suitable learning alternative.

Certification still requires evidence of the stated skills. Personal disclosure itself is not a passing criterion.

Obtain independent professional support when needed.

12. Applying the Learning During Training

You may practise and apply learning in your own coaching during the program only within your competence, existing qualifications, and applicable scope.

Explain to practice clients that you are training in the method and obtain their agreement.

Do not claim certification before it is awarded or imply endorsement beyond your actual status. Bring questions and difficulties to supervision or consultation.

Do not undertake work requiring a regulated qualification you do not hold.

13. Rights After Certification

Once certified, you may use Making Sense of Self™ in your own paid coaching with clients within your competence and scope, and accurately describe yourself as a Certified Making Sense of Self™ Facilitator.

This professional-use permission and the initial certification are included in the agreed tuition. We are not creating a separate paid licensing tier through these terms.

Permission is personal and non-transferable. It does not make you our employee, partner, representative, or authorized trainer.

You may not imply that the Company guarantees or supervises your independent services.

You may use the method name and earned designation in accurate marketing of your coaching. Use of a logo, badge, or certificate image must follow any usage instructions supplied before or at issue and must not misrepresent your status.

Certification does not authorize you to train, license, or certify others in the method, deliver our course, or sell our training materials.

Any trainer pathway or expanded permission requires a separate written agreement. Future optional services do not change the rights included in an existing enrolment without agreement.

14. Protecting Materials and Third-Party Work

Do not copy, redistribute, publish, sell, sublicense, share access to, or present our original materials as your own, except for expressly permitted personal learning use and designated client handouts.

You may give a designated client handout to your own clients for its intended coaching use. You may not include our materials in a product, competing training, membership library, or downloadable resource without written permission.

Do not independently record, screenshot, or transcribe confidential sessions or participant discussions without written authorization and appropriate consent.

Do not remove attribution or intellectual-property notices. Certification materials and account access may not be shared with another practitioner.

Our method builds on bodies of knowledge we do not own. These terms do not claim exclusive ownership of IFS, parts work, inner child work, shadow work, general coaching principles, independently created tools, or third-party materials.

They protect our original materials and branding and define contractual permissions for our program.

You may continue your own practice and independently developed work while respecting these rights. No general non-compete restriction is imposed.

15. Misuse and Qualification Status

We may investigate credible reports of misrepresentation or misuse of our materials or designation.

Before restricting professional-use permission or withdrawing certification, we will normally give written reasons and a reasonable opportunity to respond and remedy a remediable breach.

Urgent temporary restrictions may be imposed where necessary to address a serious privacy, safety, or intellectual-property concern.

Any final action must relate to the breach and will be explained in writing. We may seek appropriate legal remedies; these terms do not predetermine what a court will grant.

16. Confidentiality and Conduct

Protect personal information and stories shared by other participants, clients, and practice partners.

Do not disclose identifiable information outside the program without appropriate permission or legal authority. Remove identifying details from client examples.

Confidentiality obligations continue after participation ends. They do not prevent lawful reports, seeking independent legal advice, or disclosures required by law.

Group confidentiality cannot be absolutely guaranteed. We will set expectations and take reasonable steps to protect information.

You remain responsible for your own disclosures and conduct. This does not remove our responsibilities for information in our control.

Treat others respectfully. Do not harass, discriminate, threaten, misrepresent qualifications, pressure others into disclosure, or give advice outside your competence.

Do not use sessions or program spaces to solicit participants, send unsolicited marketing, or promote your services without permission. Voluntary professional relationships outside the program are permitted.

17. Group Recordings and Consent

Whether a session is recorded, and whether a replay is included, will be disclosed before enrolment.

A separate recording notice identifies what is captured, who can view it, the platform and storage arrangements, retention, access and consent choices, and the implications of withdrawing consent.

Appropriate express consent is required for sensitive participation. Attendance at an in-person or online session does not itself authorize an undisclosed recording.

Recordings are for the audience and purposes disclosed in the recording notice. Reuse for future cohorts, a demonstration library, public promotion, or another purpose requires the necessary notice and consent.

Simply attending or submitting personal material is not blanket permission for those uses.

Participants may not share recordings, credentials, transcripts, or identifiable excerpts outside the permitted audience.

We do not promise permanent or lifetime recording access. Access arrangements must be communicated before purchase and remain consistent with the agreement and privacy obligations.

If a privacy issue requires a recording to be edited, restricted, or removed, we will explain an appropriate alternative way to complete any required learning.

18. Assessment Recordings and Personal Submissions

Before recording and submitting a coaching demonstration, obtain written informed consent from every person recorded.

Explain the assessment purpose, who reviews it, the submission route, storage and retention arrangements, and applicable withdrawal choices.

Use the approved secure submission method. Do not send identifiable client recordings through public communities or unauthorized tools.

Assessment recordings are reviewed for assessment and related administration. They are not automatically available to the cohort, future students, or the public.

Retain consent evidence and provide it through the instructed process.

Do not upload recordings or confidential participant or client content into an AI service without the necessary authorization and a compatible privacy arrangement.

You retain ownership of your own content and authorize the handling needed to provide the program and assessment, subject to the disclosed notices.

Marketing use of names, pseudonyms, testimonials, images, voice, or personal stories requires separate permission specifying the approved uses.

If consent is withdrawn, we will explain the consequences and handle the request under the applicable privacy requirements.

19. Program Changes and Cancellation by Us

Where an offering is expressly identified as a beta, examples, resources, and instructional sequencing may be refined without reducing purchased core services.

For any program, we will notify you promptly of significant changes to dates, location, instructor, or delivery format.

Material changes will be handled by agreement or another appropriate remedy under applicable law. They are not automatically exempt from refund rights.

If we cancel the entire course before it starts, we will refund all course payments, including the $200 administration amount, and cancel unpaid instalments.

If we cannot deliver a material part after it starts, we will offer an agreed alternative or an appropriate refund and adjustment of instalments for undelivered services, subject to any greater legal rights.

Reasonable rescheduling may be offered for events outside our control. This does not remove your statutory remedies.

You are responsible for arranging the equipment, connectivity, and other personal arrangements needed for the disclosed delivery format.

If access or participation becomes difficult, contact us promptly to discuss available options. This does not excuse our failure to deliver agreed services or override a remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Suspension, Withdrawal, and Termination

You may withdraw by email at any time. Refunds and unpaid fees are governed by Section 8.

We may suspend or end participation for a serious breach, non-payment after notice, substantial disruption, or a credible safety concern.

Where practicable, we will explain the concern and allow a reasonable chance to respond and remedy it before final termination. Immediate protective steps may be needed for serious harm or unauthorized disclosure.

Removal does not automatically forfeit every payment. We will communicate the basis, access consequences, and financial position under the agreement and applicable law.

A refusal to disclose personal material is not itself grounds for removal. Failure to meet published learning requirements may affect certification, with the feedback and reassessment arrangements described above.

Cancellation of enrolment ends participation and shared-account access. Required assessment and privacy records may be retained only for the disclosed purposes and periods or legal requirements.

Confidentiality, intellectual-property restrictions, accrued payment obligations, and provisions intended to continue survive.

Completing the course does not by itself end earned certification or the professional-use permission in Section 13.

21. Responsibility and Legal Protections

We will use reasonable care in delivering the program. You are responsible for your own independent professional services and client decisions.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for remote or indirect losses such as anticipated profits.

Our total monetary liability arising from an enrolment is limited to the course fees you paid, except where such a limit is prohibited or inappropriate under applicable law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or a non-excludable statutory obligation.

Nothing limits a mandatory refund or another protected remedy.

To the extent permitted by law, you will reimburse reasonable losses and defence costs arising from a third-party claim caused by your unlawful conduct, unauthorized disclosure or infringement, or material breach of these terms.

This does not cover loss caused by our own negligence, wrongdoing, or breach.

We will notify you, allow reasonable participation in the defence, and will not agree to a settlement imposing obligations on you without your consent.

It does not penalize good-faith complaints or exercise of legal rights.

22. Resolving Concerns and Governing Law

Contact behuman@trevorbird.ca so we can try to resolve a concern through direct discussion.

This does not prevent urgent relief, a regulatory complaint, lawful payment dispute, honest review, or commencement of proceedings needed to preserve a right or deadline.

There is no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver in these terms.

Subject to any mandatory protections applicable to you, this agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario and federal Canadian laws applicable there.

Any forum arrangement must preserve court access and other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

A professional-purpose description does not waive consumer rights or decide whether those rights apply.

23. Agreement Versions and Severability

The version accepted at checkout governs your enrolment.

We may update terms for future purchases, but will not retrospectively remove agreed rights through a website update. Any material amendment to an existing enrolment requires appropriate notice and agreement, subject to applicable law.

These terms, the order confirmation, the program information supplied before purchase, and the identified privacy and recording notices form the agreement.

This clause does not exclude liability for misrepresentation or invalidate applicable sales promises or mandatory rights.

If a provision is invalid, the rest continues to the extent lawful. Nothing obliges a court to rewrite an overbroad restriction.

Not enforcing a provision once does not waive future enforcement.

24. Acceptance and Copies

Before payment, you will have an opportunity to review these terms, the complete order details, and the relevant notices, correct errors, and accept or decline.

By selecting the acceptance checkbox and submitting your order, you confirm that you are at least 18, have legal capacity, and agree to the disclosed terms.

You may obtain independent advice before accepting.

We will retain the accepted version and the date and time of acceptance and provide a retainable copy with your enrolment confirmation, within any applicable legal deadline.

You may request another copy by email. Operational program communications will use the email address supplied at enrolment. Marketing choices are handled separately.
